The AXIS Q19 series is a range of fixed thermal cameras, listed here with Axis's bullet-style bodies. They see heat, not light, so they detect people and vehicles in total darkness, smoke, glare and light fog. The AXIS Q1951-E has a 384 x 288 thermal sensor and a choice of lenses from 7 to 35 mm, so it can cover a short fence line or a long perimeter. The AXIS Q1961-TE is a thermometric model that measures temperature at spots and in zones, which helps with early fire warnings and equipment monitoring. Axis rates the high-end AXIS Q1971-E at under 20 mK thermal sensitivity.
Thermal cameras are not meant for identifying faces. Their job is reliable detection, often paired with a visual or PTZ camera that follows up on alarms. Transit designs the layout so detection zones overlap and connects them to the VMS and alarm handling. We then tune the analytics on site to keep false alarms low.
