The AXIS Q87 series combines a visual camera and a thermal camera on one motorised positioning unit. Axis calls this a bispectral PTZ. The AXIS Q8752-E pairs a Full HD visual camera with 32x optical zoom and a 640 x 480 thermal sensor, with continuous 360-degree pan. It is rated IP66 for operation from -40 to +60°C. The thermal channel detects people and vehicles in darkness or poor weather, and the visual channel gives the detail to identify what was detected.
This combination makes the Q87 a strong choice for perimeter protection at critical sites, such as utilities, substations, ports, airports, borders and large industrial plants. At these sites, a single unit can cover a long fence line and verify alarms quickly.
