The AXIS Q29 series is built for temperature monitoring rather than security. The AXIS Q2901-E is a temperature alarm camera with a 336 x 256 thermal sensor. Up to six alarm zones can each trigger when a temperature goes above or below a set limit, or rises too quickly. It is rated IP66/IP67 and works from -40 to +60°C on PoE. A pan-tilt version is also available to scan several areas from one point.
Typical uses include watching for overheating in electrical cabinets and substations, waste and recycling bunkers, coal and biomass storage, conveyors, data centre plant rooms and production lines. The camera sends an alert as soon as something starts to heat up, often before smoke or flame appears. Transit sets the zones and thresholds for each scene.
