Hikvision's general-purpose servers are rack-mounted machines for running video management, access control or analytics software in a site's own server room. The DS-VE11-R/HW5E is a typical example: a 1U server with an Intel Xeon processor, support for up to 128 GB of RAM and four 3.5-inch drive bays, with Windows Server available as an option. It is standard server hardware, chosen and supported to work with Hikvision's software.
Buying the server from the same supplier as the cameras and software keeps compatibility simple. It also gives one point of contact if something goes wrong. These servers are commonly used to run HikCentral, third-party VMS, databases for access control and visitor management, or analytics servers. Transit sizes the server for the number of cameras and doors and the retention period. We install it in your rack with UPS power, configure the operating system and software, and set up backups and remote monitoring. See our ICT and data centre solutions and CCTV systems pages, or the Hikvision data centre range. Contact Transit for a specification and quote.
