Camera housings enclose and protect cameras from dust, rain, heat and tampering. Hikvision makes housings for box cameras and specialist models in several sizes and ratings. Some include sunshields, heaters or fans, and specialist stainless steel or polymer versions are used in corrosive or hazardous areas. The right housing depends on the camera body, the lens and the conditions it will face.
In the UAE, outdoor cameras face strong sun, high summer temperatures, fine dust and, on the coast, salt air. A good housing with a sunshield and enough ventilation keeps the camera within its operating temperature and keeps the front glass clear.
