Hikvision's special series covers cameras for jobs that standard bullets and domes can't do well. The best known are covert or pinhole cameras. The lens unit is separated from the main body by a cable, so the tiny lens can sit discreetly in a ceiling, a panel or a piece of equipment. Hikvision recommends a maximum cable length of about 8 m on some current models. The camera body sits out of sight nearby. Lens options include pinhole, cylindrical and fixed-focal heads.
These cameras are used in ATMs and cash counting rooms, retail counters, self-service machines, lifts, interview and evidence rooms, and anywhere a visible camera would be impractical. Covert recording must follow UAE law and your organisation's policies, so it is worth checking the legal side before you plan an installation. Transit designs these installations with the right lens and position. We fit the hardware neatly into joinery or equipment and connect the cameras to the NVR or VMS like any other camera.
