Hikvision security radars detect and track people and vehicles across open ground, whatever the light or weather. Radar is not fooled by shadows, headlights or moving leaves, which can trigger video analytics. Earlier models such as the DS-PR1-60 covered about 60 m over a 100-degree field and tracked up to 32 targets. The DS-PRP100 reached around 100 m. Both can steer a PTZ speed dome to follow whatever they detect. Some of these models are now discontinued in regional catalogues, so current equivalents should be checked for each project.
Radar suits large open areas: perimeters of utilities and industrial plants, solar farms, warehouse yards, construction sites, rooftops and coastal properties. In these places, fence sensors or a camera alone leave gaps. Transit plans radar positions and overlapping coverage and sets detection zones and filters.
