Hikvision thermography cameras measure temperature, not just detect heat. They are designed for monitoring equipment and processes, not for security. Hikvision typically quotes accuracy of about ±2°C or ±2% across measuring ranges such as -20 to 550°C, depending on the model. Readings depend on surface emissivity and distance, and a blackbody reference can be added where higher accuracy is needed. The cameras can raise alarms when any point in a zone goes above a set limit.
Typical uses include electrical panels and transformers, substations, switchgear rooms, data centre plant, conveyor belts, kilns, waste bunkers and storage of material that can self-heat. In these places, a hotspot is an early warning of failure or fire. Continuous monitoring catches problems between manual inspections. Transit sets up measurement zones and alarm thresholds for each scene. We connect the alerts to your IoT solutions, BMS, SCADA or control room, so the right team acts on an alarm straight away.
