Hikvision traffic flow systems count and measure vehicles, so road operators and site managers can see how traffic really moves. The iDS-TCD402-BR, for example, combines a camera with millimetre-wave radar to cover up to four lanes and about 200 m of road. It reports vehicle volume, speed, direction, queue length, lane occupancy and headway. This model has been discontinued in some regions, so the current equivalent should be confirmed for each project.
The data feeds adaptive traffic signals, congestion alerts and planning studies. On private sites it shows how busy entrances, internal roads and car park ramps get at different times. That helps operators plan staffing, gate opening times and parking guidance.
