LG's transparent OLED signage is a see-through screen. Each pixel makes its own light, so the panel needs no backlight. Viewers see the content and the real objects behind the glass together. The 55EW5TK-A is a 55-inch Full HD model with a built-in capacitive touch layer. LG quotes about 38% panel transparency, a little lower once the touch glass is added. There is also a non-touch version for showcases and window displays.
These screens work best where the object behind them matters as much as the message: a watch or perfume showcase, a car on a showroom floor, a museum exhibit or a hotel reception counter.
