Samsung's Onyx Cinema LED replaces the projector and screen with a direct-view LED wall. Each pixel produces its own light, so the picture stays sharp and the contrast holds up, even with some house lights on. Samsung says Onyx is DCI-certified and can run at up to 4K and 120 Hz. Screen widths run from about 5 m up to 20 m, and HDR content is shown with high peak brightness and very deep blacks.
Beyond commercial cinemas, the same technology suits private screening rooms, premium hotel and residential cinemas, and auditoriums that also host presentations. Unlike a projector, there is no lamp to replace and no throw distance to plan around, but the room still needs proper structural support, power, cooling and acoustic planning. Transit can help with sizing, structure, the audio system and control. See our indoor display solutions and AV systems pages, or the wider Samsung range.
