KM is Samsung's code for its self-service kiosks. These all-in-one units combine a touch screen, a built-in computer and mounting for payment or printing accessories. The 24-inch KM24A runs Samsung's Tizen platform for web-based apps. The KMC-W runs Windows 10 IoT Enterprise on Intel processors for software that needs a PC. Both have Full HD touch screens and can be fixed to a wall, desk or floor stand.
Kiosks work best where customers do the same short task again and again: ordering food, checking in at a hotel or clinic, registering as a visitor, paying a bill or collecting tickets. The hardware is only part of it, because the ordering or check-in software, payment terminal and network all have to work together.
