An industrial plant in Abu Dhabi wanted its cameras to react to the process. Its OPC UA servers were already publishing live readings and PTZ cameras were already installed, but an alarm on a reading had no way to bring the right equipment into view.
Transit, as system integrator, delivered the hardware, cameras, integration and commissioning. The PTZ cameras are managed through a Pelco video management system (VMS). The software was developed by our software integration partner Abaci to Transit's requirements.
Key points of the project:
- More than a thousand plant readings monitored live, with a backup plant server for any reading the main server misses
- Rules that staff can edit, with a hold time so short spikes never move a camera
- One move at a time per camera, and automatic moves pause while an operator uses the joystick
- A full log of every automatic and manual camera move
- Automatic recovery after plant server restarts or network breaks
Operators now see the affected equipment on screen as soon as a condition persists, without watching every value all day.
